It is now against the law for anyone to work on gas appliances who are not gas safe registered.
Also, under gas safety regulations, it is required that all gas appliances are serviced annually.
An annual service is required for commercial catering fish and chip shop ranges or fryers by most insurance companies , so as to comply with their policy and it is essential for maintaining safe and reliable equipment. E.P.S. Commercial catering Fish & Chip shop ranges and fryer Gas service engineers will complete a full service after which you will receive a a gas safety service certificate, in line with the legal requirements.
Gas service Engineers are available on a pre-booked basis to service and maintain fish and chip shop fryers and ranges, but they are also available for emergency breakdowns. E.P.S. Gas service engineers can offer a choice of annual service contracts and provide a quote for any work that may be required.

Services include:
- Check pans
- Visually check welds
- Clean injectors if requirement indicated after flue gas analysis.
- Check flue using a smoke pull test on completion
- Check thermostats and high limit stats are working
- Check out electrical wiring and replace any faulty component ** (cost of replacement parts and additional labour is charged in addition to the cost of the service)
- Perform a gas tightness test on fish range internal pipe work
- Re-assemble range, fill with oil/fat and test up to temp on all pans
- On open flue appliances a spillage test must be performed on completion of service
- Issue a Gas Safety Certificate
- Duct work cleaning & T.R. Certification is not included in the service. Other arrangements must be made to accommodate this.
